The Balmoral Convention Centre at Ikeja Sheraton in Lagos was transformed into a vibrant hub of music and celebration as the inaugural edition of the Lagos Roadblock Party delivered an unforgettable night filled with entertainment and an exciting lineup of performances. Themed, “Embrace Your Dual Nature: The Saintly And The Sinful,” the event catered to young fun lovers, particularly the Gen Zs.

Conceptualised with a young audience in mind, the event exuded free-spirited vibes, complemented by captivating live performances and fashion enthusiasts who showcased their A-game, adding a splash of colour to the festivities. Hosted by Jimmie and Do2dtun, the party featured an impressive array of DJs, including DJ Tolani Baj and DJ Consequence, among others.

The event also saw participation from popular drink brands such as Goldberg and Desperados, which engaged with attendees to enhance their experience.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Desperados’ Brand Manager, Aboyowa Ikpobe emphasised the brand’s commitment to representing the Gen Z crowd through its products. “Desperados has always been about getting loose with high energy and having a good time. It’s a brand that is very edgy for the Gen Z and younger consumers. As a brand, we have always been different. We have always challenged ourselves to do things differently. We encourage people to embrace their differences, come as they are and enjoy themselves,” Ikpobe stated.

Additionally, Mfon Bassey, the Head of Trade Marketing at Nigerian Breweries, the producer of Goldberg, highlighted that the party presented a unique opportunity to connect with consumers and provide them with an unforgettable experience.
