A host of celebrities graced the 17th edition of The Headies, Nigeriaโs most prestigious music award show, in grand style at Landmark Event Centre in Lagos on Sunday.
The star-studded arrivals at the red carpet have set social media abuzz, with hashtags such as #TheHeadies and #Headies2025 dominating trending lists.
Among the notable attendees was the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Also spotted on the red carpet were the recently wedded Tanzanian singer Juma Jux and his wife, Priscilla, marking their first Headies appearance as a married couple.
Also in attendance were Annie Macaulay, estranged wife of Afrobeats icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba; Nollywood actresses Nancy Isime and Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, aka BamBam, popular Nigerian socialite Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest; and the winner of the 2021 Big Brother Naija, Hazel Oyeze Onoduenyi, aka White Money.
Collins Enebeli Ajereh, the father of Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy, and the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, were also in attendance.
Founded in 2006 as the Hip Hop World Awards, The Headies has since evolved into the a prestigious music awards platform in Nigeria.
PUNCH Online reports that the nominations list for the 17th edition features an array of both local and international artists that have been recognised for their contribution to the music scene in the past year.
Following Sunday’s 2024 edition, anticipation already builds for the 2025 edition, reportedly scheduled to take place in December.
